The Strategic Planning Process, to achieve successful integration or implementation of any strategy, is broadly divided into different phases, covering:

ASSESSING the current environment, including external trends and forces, and the position of the organization relative to external and internal key factors. This includes the cultural audit.

PLANNING alternative strategies by identifying opportunities and gaps, outlining alternatives, preparing cost-benefit analyses, etc.

IMPLEMENTING the strategies and tactics designated by the strategic planning teams/groups is the most difficult piece of the process. This includes designing programs and systems to introduce desired changes into the organization, as well as outlining steps to align rewards and incentives with desired behaviors.

MONITORING the implementation process in order to ensure that the necessary changes are being carried out.  Monitoring allows the organization to adapt to the external and internal environmental changes, and to alter the vision, mission and strategies of the organization as necessary.

Although this process is outlined in linear fashion, organizations need to assess and reassess the progress of their decisions throughout. Leadership will need to make adjustments as necessary. The CHL works with your organization to facilitate the process.
